TS ECET Counseling 2026: Certificate Verification and Web Options Guide

Mastering TS ECET Counseling 2026

The Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS ECET) counseling is a fast-paced, multi-phase process. Because lateral entry seats are strictly limited to 10% of the total college intake, precision in executing the counseling steps is paramount for diploma students.

Step 1: Online Slot Booking for Verification

Unlike regular admissions where you might walk in, TS ECET requires candidates to pay the processing fee online and book a specific date and time slot for certificate verification at a chosen Help Line Center (HLC).

  • Pro Tip: Book your slot as early as possible. Centers fill up quickly, and booking an early date gives you more time to rectify issues if a certificate is missing or rejected.
  • Step 2: Physical Certificate Verification

You must attend the HLC in person at your allotted time.

Bring all original documents along with 2 sets of Xerox copies:

  • TS ECET Rank Card & Hall Ticket
  • Diploma Provisional Certificate and Marks Memos (all semesters)
  • SSC or equivalent marks memo
  • Study/Bonafide certificates from 6th class to Diploma
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Integrated Community Certificate (Caste) issued by Tahsildar
  • Income Certificate (issued after Jan 1st of the current year)
  • Upon successful verification, the officer will hand you a Receipt of Certificates (ROC). Verify the details printed on it immediately (especially your local area, gender, category, and fee reimbursement eligibility).

    Step 3: Generation of Password

After verification, you will receive an SMS containing a registration number. Visit the TS ECET candidate portal, enter your details, and generate a secure password. Do not share this password with internet cafe operators or friends.

    Step 4: Exercising Web Options

This is the most strategic phase.

  • Since lateral entry seats are few (often just 6-12 seats per branch in a college), you MUST enter a large number of options.
  • Do not restrict yourself to top colleges. If you only enter 5 options and miss the cutoff, you will be left without a seat in Phase 1.
  • Prioritize by: 1. College Reputation, 2. Distance from home, 3. University Affiliation (Autonomous vs JNTUH Affiliated).
  • Step 5: Seat Allotment and Payment

Allotments are released online. If allotted, download the allotment order and challan form. You must pay the tuition fee (if applicable) through online payment gateways.

Step 6: Self Reporting via System

After payment, you must click on "Self Reporting System" to confirm your seat. This step is mandatory. Even if you pay the fee, failing to self-report online will result in the cancellation of your allotted seat. Once confirmed, your seat is secure, and you can either report to the college or participate in the final phase for a better option.
